I find art to be a solace to me in trying times, both creating and viewing. I believe that we share part of our spirit when we create art that resonates with others. Art connects us, and that is something we all need in times of crisis — to feel connected.
I remember hearing the WWII era story of the French people removing the art from the Louvre and hiding it away to preserve it (and then returning it when it was safe to do so.) They were in an unbearable situation, and yet risked even more to preserve these beautiful works and return them to share.
